DIOBAS LTD

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Our program for 2009 was, to say the very least, a very ambitious one. In fact, when we had our strategic planning meeting last January, we almost decided to shelve many of our projects for at least 12 months.

With the financial markets in meltdown and a world recession beckoning it was hardly the time to embark on the most ambitious year the company had ever attempted. But, with so much within reach, we felt we had no option other than to push on regardless of the obvious problems.

As it has turned out it was certainly the right decision.

This last year has been an incredible success with so much achieved that this report will have to be broken down into a summary of each project individually rather than a general overview.

Our primary aims were as follows :

1) Establish our revolutionary  Oroborus Freshwater units worldwide.

2) Film and produce our own TV and video series featuring six challenging locations on three different continents.

3) Patent the various technological breakthroughs which were the result of our 16 year research program.

4) Restructure Diobas as a limited company, take on more staff and appoint new Directors.

5) Expand into extra premises and build a much larger research facility.

6) Finalise our Ciren Neural Trigger technology.

7) Continue our research into the suitability of other species to raise with our new freshwater technology.

All the above needed to be achieved without the help of any Government funding, Grants or Bank loans and without even having the benefit of an overdraft or debts of any kind.

I think you will agree that it was quite a challenge, especially as running a research company is like no other commercial activity. There is often no product to begin with, it is not like having the usual profit margins associated with tangible goods. the research may go anywhere or even hit a dead end with no viable product to recoup the investment. Research is an expensive business and although it is the lifeblood of many economies there is rarely any help to be had from the financial sector due to the high risks involved and general lack of vision that has sadly taken over our commercial institutions. Still, with the current stupidity and idiocy that has governed our banking system I guess we were better off without their help! In fact we have all ended up funding them . . . not quite how it is supposed to work is it ?

This last 12 months have been extremely difficult and at times almost critical with even our own survival as a company in doubt.

However, despite the financial climate and the fact that we are a small company with few resources, having spent several million pounds over the previous years on our research programs, we have had what can only be described as a remarkable year.

Before continuing on the following pages I think that now would be an appropriate time to say a genuine and heartfelt " Thank You " to everyone involved with Diobas Ltd and to those who held faith, both in our own capabilities and the technology itself.

Without all of you this year could never have been achieved.
